Van Berlo Gardens

In 2012 the owner had a vision of a home surrounded by gardens and that vision has become reality. Sun-loving perennials and shrubs surround the house. Under a stand of majestic oak trees, shade loving plants take over the show with the backdrop of the St. Lawrence River. Old favourites include irises, peonies, penstemons, daylilies,

clematis, heucheras, hostas and ferns. Colour, texture and form are displayed to advantage on 2.4 acres. Best described as a plant collector's garden; many uncommon plants are featured. The show starts early in the season thanks to the mass plantings of bulbs. Fall foliage complements the dahlias, asters and mums that continue until frost.  This site also features a large vegetable garden.
