Waterways, parks and lakes:

There are many locations where bird watching can be very exciting, including along the St. Lawrence River and on the islands, our parks and lakes. Other prime locations are the Rideau River Migratory Bird Sanctuary in Merrickville and the Swale wetland in Smiths Falls. The 1000 Islands Water trail, located within the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve, is a paddling destination with endless inland and river paddling routes.
